Around 360 BCE the Greek philosopher Plato recognized that in our universe there are exactly five three-dimensional forms whose every face, every edge, and every vertex is identical. These shapes hide inside Metatron’s Cube and serve as the geometric foundation of all matter.
Plato believed these five forms were “the blueprint of the four elements” (Fire · Earth · Air · Water) plus aether (Spirit) sustaining the cosmos. Today, science finds these same shapes structuring DNA, mineral crystals, viruses, and many organic molecules.
1. Tetrahedron — Four-Faced Form
4 faces · equilateral triangles · 4 vertices · 6 edges
The strongest, most stable form in nature (which is why carbon atoms use tetrahedral bonds). Linked to the element of Fire — the power of ignition, courage, transformation. Useful for those needing to start something new.
2. Hexahedron — The Cube
6 faces · squares · 8 vertices · 12 edges
Representative of the element of Earth — stability, structure, foundation, the body. Found in salt crystals and certain diamonds. For those wanting to anchor peace and order in life.
3. Octahedron — Eight-Faced Form
8 faces · equilateral triangles · 6 vertices · 12 edges
Like two pyramids joined base-to-base. Linked to the element of Air — intellect, communication, creativity. Diamonds and fluorite crystallize in this form. Suited to those who work with thought or art.
4. Icosahedron — Twenty-Faced Form
20 faces · equilateral triangles · 12 vertices · 30 edges
The most rounded of the Platonic solids. Linked to the element of Water — emotion, flow, adaptability. Many natural viruses use icosahedral protein shells. Suited to those who want to let go and open their hearts.
5. Dodecahedron — Twelve-Faced Form
12 faces · regular pentagons · 20 vertices · 30 edges
The most complex and sacred. Linked to aether (spirit) — the cosmos, consciousness, the divine. Plato believed God used this form to “arrange the constellations”. Its pentagons hide the golden ratio φ in every face.
The Sixth Form — Torus and Tensor Ring
When all five Platonic solids are united and energy is allowed to spin around a central axis, a topological form called the Torus appears — like a doughnut, or like the Earth’s magnetic field. This is precisely the form a Tensor Ring generates when its ends are joined into a continuous loop.
Slim Spurling discovered that bending copper wire to Sacred Cubit proportions and joining the ends induces a Torus Field around the ring — which is why a single Tensor Ring is often considered comparable to a Crystal Grid built from many crystals.
